The Highwood Library and Community Center (HLCC) Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a volunteer group for middle and high school students motivated to support their community, provide guidance for library programs for young adults, do service projects, and develop professional skills. TAB members may also be invited to help at other library events or volunteering opportunities outside regular TAB meetings.

Members of TAB must:

  • Be going into 6th – 12th grade
  • Be able to attend monthly meetings
  • Be willing to participate in TAB discussions and voice their opinions
  • Be willing to respect the opinions, tastes, privacy, and choices of others

Benefits: 

  • Opportunity to provide input for library decisions related to teens and young adults
  • Earn service hours and volunteer experience
  • Develop marketable leadership skills
  • Participation can be listed on job, scholarship, and college applications

Meetings are held every 1st and 3rd Saturday at 12:00pm.
